Guitar Chord Theory - Minor Triads

Minor triads are made up of the following notes of the major scale 1st, flattened 3rd, and 5th note.

In the scale of C major C D E F G A B this would equal C (1st), Eb (3rd flattened b=flattened), and G (5th)

Lets try another exercise...

In the key of G major name the notes of a G minor triad.

Key of G major = G A B C D E F#

G minor triad = G(1st), Bb(3rd b), and D(5th)

Very good! Now here's some review...

Major = 1,3,5

Minor = 1,3b,5
